Obituary for John Pennington

PENNINGTON, John T. III – of Mt. Morris, age 78, died Friday, June 1, 2018 at McLaren – Flint. Funeral services will be held 11AM Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Cremation to follow. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 5PM until 7PM and on Saturday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

John was born January 9, 1940 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late John and Gladys (Crowell) Pennington II. He graduated from Birch Run High School in 1958. John married Edna Parsell on August 29, 1984 in Mt. Morris, Michigan. He served in the United States Army for 3 years. Mr. Pennington retired from General Motors in 1993 with 28 years seniority and was a member of UAW Local #598. John enjoyed wood working, fishing, working in the garage, spending time at the cottage, and doing bodywork on cars and trucks.

Surviving are: Wife, Edna; Son: John (Michelle) Pennington IV, Step son, Bill (Christina) Robertson; Grandchildren: Jessica and Briana Pennington; Step Grandchildren: Mitchell Naegle, Kaitlyn Robertson and Jacob Robertson; Brother, William Pennington, and step great grandchildren: Zoey and Zander. He was also preceded in death by: Step sons: Danny Robertson and Gary Robertson; step Grandson, Jaryd Robertson, and brothers, Stuart Pennington and Robin Pennington.
