Obituary for Larry G. Wilkins

WILKINS, Larry Gene – of Clio, age 77, died September 11, 2018 at Hurley Regional Medical Center in Flint. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.

Larry was born May 4, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Milton and Anna (Frank) Wilkins. He graduated from Sandusky High School in 1959. Larry married Shirley Dudley on July 22, 1961 in Croswell, Michigan. They were married for 57 years. Larry worked for Montgomery Ward in Flint for many years. He enjoyed fishing, bowling on a league, deer hunting, and dancing with Shirley. Larry loved playing guitar and singing with the grandchildren. He especially loved spending time with family around a camp fire. Larry was loved by many and was adopted as a father figure by Doug and Kimmie Fettinger, and Kimberly Harvey. We will always remember his smiles, laughter and Big Hugs.

Surviving are: Wife, Shirley Wilkins; Daughters: Charlotte (Dave) Doherty and Crystal (James L. Jr.) Kiser; Grandchildren: David (Lauren) Weber, Jonathan (Gabby Staudacher) Weber, Holly Kuzma, Kyle (Cinthia) Kuzma and Rebecca Kiser; Great grandson, Jay Weber; Nephews: Darren (Martha) Dudley, Dan Krouse, Robie Krouse, and David Krouse; Nieces: Tam Crabtree, Jane Dudley, Anita (Bob) Mifsud, and Julie Bassolino.
